what's on this weekend
There's a big Challenge Event on this week end XSTRATA FUTURITY CHALLENGE and OPEN CHALLENGE. The SPRINGSURE Working Horse ASSOCiation is also holding a cutting in conjunction with the event. It's a championship show with OPEN, $10000 NOVICE, $3500 NOVICE, NOVICE NON PRO, OPEN NON PRO, and $10000 NON PRO, these events are all $500 plus 100% added. The $3500 NON PRO and ROOKIES are $300 added with $100 added for the , SNAFFLEBIT. There is also a youth event. In the camp draft scene there are four drafts on nationwide this week end. In Queensland there are three Gavial Creek, Windorah, and Muttaburra. Lance Jones is the person to talk to about Gavial Creek 0428 458 841, Danielle Weston for Windorah (07)46 564 983 and Jenni Gray for Muttaburra (07)46 587 145. In New South Wales there is one camp draft at Garah and the contact there is Barb Davis (02)67 543 329.
Reiners have a couple of things to go to this week end too. On Saturday the Queensland Reining Horse Association are having a clinic at theCaboolture Show grounds followed by a Jackpot show on the Sunday. Also on Sunday the Goulborn Valley Reining Horse Association are having a club Jackpot day.
The North Coast Western Riders Club are holding a practice day Saturday 9th August (starting at 10:00AM) and a show on Sunday. The show will Start at 8:30AM. Location is Hawthorne Equestrian Park, South Grafton. The club offers Halter and Led classes, English and Western classes and Sporting, Rookie (Beginner) events, monthly High Point Awards, Raffles + much more. Good luck to all competing and to all who are just going for a look have fun. Remember if you want to support your favorite sport it not just about competing. The presence of spectators is very encouraging to all participants and sponsors alike.
