Tumut in June was always a gamble, but the winter sun shone radiantly on our backs, and fortunately we were packed and gone before a nasty cold front arrived.
Local SCCC Club member, Sascha Mason helped Peter Costello secure cattle and offered assistance with organizing the show. |

| Andrew is a past NCHA Futurity Champion riding ‘Jack O’Lena” & Reserve Futurity winner on ‘Denim & Diamonds’, both in the 1980’s. Andrew & Melinda now live on the Murray River at Walwa and drove over the mountain to catch up with some old friends during the weekend at Tumut. The Snaffle Bit was won by Wilba Thornberry on Henrys Fancy Pants and in doing so squeezed Robbie Ferguson from Victoria out of the Area 7 lead. Many thanks to all those who rallied during the weekend to make the show another success for the Club members and visitors. The Southern Cross Cutting Club now has a recess for the next few months until after the Futurities, then returns a week after the NCHA Futurity Final in October with a show at Condobolin. Good luck to all with your aged event horses at the coming Futurities. |
