FROM COPPERBOTTOM TO CUTTER BILL

This one's just for you Allen. The latest addition to the History page is a little story about Copperbottom. For those who havn't visited the History page yet, this intends to give cutting enthusiasts a look at the humble beginnings of the cutting horse up until the present. Of course something of this magnitude requires immense research, thus the large gaps of time between updates.

After starting in the US around the 1600's we've had a look at Janus and Sir Archy THE two foundation horses not only for the Celebrated American Running Horses (as they were called in those days) but also for the Quarter Horses cousins the American Thouroughbred. Well now it's time to have a look at Copperbottom. Son of Sir Archy. Copperbottom is probably very close to being a lost bloodline as his lineage can only be traced to Cutter Bill in the Cutting Arena.

Cutter Bills bloodlines are being carried on today by Bill's Jazabell. This mare's only foal was Jazabell Quixote , a Co-Reserve Champion in the NCHA Non-Pro Futurity. Jazabell Quixote in turn is the dam of several top cutting horses including July Jazz, an NCHA Futurity Champion. Current sire Dual Jazz is a direct son of Jazabell Quiote and has sired winners totalling earnings of over $750,000. Also last years dual Derby Winner Reyn Storm also traces back to Cutter Bill on his dams side.

It's intersting to see that Jazabell Quiote goes back to Royal King on her dams side but that's another story. So for more have a look at the history page.
