Delaney wins third place in school spelling bee!

For those who visit this site on a regular basis you are probably aware of our son Delaney. Since his school has started employing full time carers to assist him in learning in the classroom he has progressed in leaps and bounds. Last week Delaney made the final for his age group in the school spelling bee. To qualify he had to spell a list of words given to him in a classroom situation. The final was to be a bit more challenging however. The three finalists were required to write the words as well as spell them. Because of his Autism, handwriting is still a challenge to him and despite the school accommodating this problem by allowing all three finalists to write the words in trays full of sand he still found the task difficult and finished third. We are very proud of his achievement and the trophy he was given is standing proudly in our dining room.

This is the result of the generosity of the local community and people from the cutting horse industry who bent over backwards to assist us in raising funds to be able to employ the carers who have guided Delaney to the point he is at today. We are extremely grateful to the people from the Lectric Playboy company for donating the proceeds of their stallion service Auction to the Tyalgum School to assist Del.

With that auction almost coming to a close David Banks has generously donated a service to Little Smarty Oak with the proceeds going to Delaney's school fund. Little Smarty Oak is exceptionally bred for cutting being by Smart Little Diablo out of 1995 NCHA Derby Champion Miss Freckles Oak, she is by Doc's Freckles Oak out of Docs Lady Buck. Docs Lady Buck is by Doc's Spinifex out of Lady Moore 45 who is by Hank H.

Little Smarty Oak is ideal for breeding Cutting, Reining, Drafting and timed event horses. On top of that his good looks and coloring guarantee his foals to have that little extra eye appeal. Little Smarty Oak is the first Australian bred Quarter Horse stallion to be eligible to export shipped semen worldwide, and that he is! With semen being shipped to the US, Europe, New Zealand and New Caledonia. On top of that

Another Smarty Oak a son of Little Smarty Oak, (pictured left) will be the first Little Smarty Oak progeny to be exported from Australia. He will be on his way to U.S.A. a little later in the year and will commence his cutting training as a contender for U.S.A. 2009 NCHA Cutting Futurity. Although he will be considerably younger than all the other horses in the event it is a huge opportunity to display his potential. It also demonstrates the confidence in Little Smarty Oak as a sire in the worlds biggest cutting horse market. Expressions of interest have been received to send Little Smarty

Oak himself to U.S.A. but at this stage his hooves will remain firmly planted on Australian soil. Frozen semen is available in U.S.A. And additional shipments will be sent as necessary.
