time for a new question ...... what age?

Before E.I. I presented the question "Is Australia ready for an Australian Sires Stakes?" The response to that was a resounding YES!!!!... 91.5% said YES to only 8.5% of readers saying NO. We then went into the eligibility of the horses breeding. After many months of voting it has been decided that if an Australian Progeny Stakes were to be held then that horse would have to be sired by an Australian bred Stallion out of an Australian bred Mare and born on Australian soil. The numbers were 82% Yes 18% No.

Ok time to move on. On the above basis last years NCHA Futurity winner Giovanni Simpatico would not be eligible for the event. In fact only eight of the 20 finalists including fourth place getter One Moore Duck would be eligible.

So what next? Well how about age. Should it be for three year olds or should any age group be able to enter.
If it was only eligible for three year olds then the event would have to be held after the Futurities. Other than that if it was open to all ages then it could be held at any time of the year but three year olds probably wouldn't be entered if it were held before the Futurities.

Bearing in mind this event would be totally to showcase the ability of Australian bred horses what would be the best age group to do this. Well you be the judge.

To vote simply select what you think is the best option on the right and then click on submit.

In upcoming polls we will be asking questions about the timing and venue, as well as the structure of the prize money. Also we will ask the question as to if it whether it should an annual event or whether a high point aggregate structure is most preferred.
