About two and a half years ago, it was decided that after a number of years of unaffiliated cutting shows, it was time to become a professional and dedicated Cutting Club.

The strength of cutting has grown enormously over the last few years here in the north, with a strong contingent of quality horses, a wonderful group of members and a desire to see even further growth in the future. It is thanks to John Byrne and Merrilyn Hayes that a lot of us are now seriously involved, as they spent many hours with beginners, training, explaining and supporting all of us in the sport. Progressively people bought solid trained horses, to the extent that we are now a very competitive club.

We affiliated with the NCHA in January 06, but due to weather constraints such as cylcones and flooding, we were unable to hold as many events as we would have liked. But 2007 hopefully will be very different. We have 5 affiliated shows booked for the year, plus of course clinics and club days.

We are extremely lucky, that we have strong sponsorship, access to lovely fresh cattle and quality grounds, that are set in very scenic parts of the North. The most important thing of course is that we all have fun and enjoy our sport.
