PowerHouse Armidale Host-A-Murder Dinner
If you are reading this page, you are more than likely contemplating adding the Friday Night Host-a-murder dinner to your Armidale Futurity nominations. I'll tell you a little more about the night later, but for now let me tell you how we came up with the idea. It was during the “Self Entertainment” night as Kent Ferguson and I call it, that he and I staged during the Toowomba Futurity. It was one of those ‘ unplanned' nights that just turned in to a very GOOD night. We played music and the club provided the refreshments, and what it bought to my attention, once again is that CUTTERS apart from the obvious enjoy a GREAT night out. If you have already read our section in the Australian Horseman (Nov/Dec), you will have learnt that Mark and I are trying to provide a weekend of Light heartedness and FUN!

Having said that, the thought process then continued, what can we do that will be entertaining, and I think we enjoy laughing at ourselves more than anything, a great meal, refreshments, and something just a bit different……………. So let me introduce to you the concept of the PowerHouse Armidale Host-a-Murder Dinner

Firstly I would like to point out that the PowerHouse Armidale are providing us with their entire restaurant specifically for the purpose of our dinner, which then reminds me that numbers will be limited to just 60 as that is the capacity of the restaurant, and it will be the first 60 payments for the dinner will be the chosen participants. Keep in mind that with officials, and critical participants, will knock that back to about 50 available tickets.

So, I can see some of you saying, just get to the F_ _ _ _ _ g point will you, OK, I'm getting there. The dinner will take the form of a Wedding, yes a Wedding. A mock Wedding of course, but still a wedding. I am hoping that now some of you ladies will be starting to get a picture of what you can wear. A Wedding is the perfect reason to dress up, and show off your after 5 wear, and as for us guys, well we're comfortable in just about anything. If with your nominations you choose to pay, and come along, you will then be sent a character/guest of the Bride and Groom. For instance you might be the gay flight steward, and ‘friend' of the Bride's brother, who's name just happens to be Tristan .

Participants will all receive a character prior to the night, allowing plenty of time to prepare. Participants will also be given a name tag. For those that wish to be cautious in approaching the night can keep their name tag in their pocket, until such time that the dinner/reception has taken off. Some participants may choose to do nothing more than come to a dinner, and that will work out fine. All seats will have name tags, just like a wedding, and that means you may not get to sit with your real partner, but one of the other Wedding guests, (Uh, OH!) With a Wedding reception as our base theme, it provides plenty of scope for you to participate literally, or just sit back and have dinner and a laugh. I have discussed characters with a number of different people and for safety reasons, I can assure you that a minimum number of people will be in character, as for you, well that is up to you, but one thing I can assure you is that YOUR enjoyment in the night will be dependant on YOUR participation. Just wait until you find out who the Bride and Groom are!

Oh, I forgot to mention someone will be murdered during the night (mock of course), and as the night goes on the host will let out a number of clues as to who the murderer is, and of course the idea is for the guests to work it out, only the host will know who the murderer is……..so dust off your best frock, and join Tristan, Mark and myself, as we HOST-A-MURDER , thanks to our sponsors and friends, PowerHouse Armidale
