As the dust settles after an incredible NCHA futurity it's now time to take one final look at the SIR ratings to see how the Sires faired. 12 Stallions were represented in this years final with Dual Rey, Peptoboonsmal and Highbrow Cat being the sires to shine from the all time top five.
Dual Rey sired the most finalists with 7 followed by Highbrow Cat and Smooth As A Cat. with five each. Peptoboonsmal was the only other stallion to sire multiple finalists with three.
Abrakadabracre finished on top of the sires rankings getting one finalist from one entry. He is by Bob Acre Doc (sire of acres destiny) out of a mare with an interesting mix of Doc Bar one cross, Poco Tivio 2 crosses, Poco Beuno 3 crosses, with a touch of three bars and Leo in there as well.

Peeka Pep and That Sly Cat finished equal second. Peeka Pep is by Peptoboonsmal and has a double cross of Royal Blue Boon. There's a fair amount of Royal King blood in this stallion.
That Sly Cat is by Highbrow Cat out of a Smart Little Lena Mare who also posses a healthy amount of Royal King blood in the bottom Line.
Dual Rey outsired Highbrow Cat this year and Smooth As A Cat is looking to be heir apparent to his dad Highbrow Cat. Smooth As A Cat possesses Peppy San Badger, Docs Hickory and Rey Jay in the bottom line. We'll take a closer look at these stallions down the track in the breeding barn. But one things for sure, theres some interesting "blends" of bloodlines in all these stallions, confirming the art of horse breeding to be a challenging affair to say the least.
