Now that just leaves us with one more group of statistics, the big Kahuna. The whole 2009 NCHA Futurity combined. As mentioned at the top of this story Docs Spinifex, Nitas Wood, Smart Little Richochet and Poco Peppy Doc topped the SIR ratings with Peptos Stylish Oak siring the most finalists.
And the US outrated the Australian bred sires 115 to 94 in the SIR ratings.
So there you have it, the statistics as I see it from this years NCHA futurity.
Now before my harshest critics start reaching for their keyboards, let me just explain what the SIR ratings are all about. It's simply another way of presenting on a percentage basis ( percentage of entries v percentage of finalists) how certain stallions progeny performed in this particular event. I am not trying to re-write any rule books or text books, it is just my way of presenting the statistics in an unbiased way. I'm hoping that by presenting the stats in this way, it will give people who read this article food for thought and put a different slant on assesing the performance of the progeny of the different stallions that are out there in the market place today. It just gives you another option when start thinking about which Stallion is going to breed to your precious msre the next breeding season. Bon Apetite. |
